Fast-Tracked Funding to Build 5000 New Social Homes

Community housing advocates have welcomed the federal government's fast-tracked funding to deliver an additional 5000 social homes, urgently addressing Australia's housing shortfall.

A Partnership for Progress

Housing Minister Clare O'Neil announced a new partnership with state and territory governments to deliver these homes under the Housing Australia Future Fund (HAFF). 

This collaboration aims to streamline efforts and accelerate the construction of much-needed housing across the country. 

By leveraging federal and state resources, the initiative seeks to remove bureaucratic delays and ensure the homes are delivered as efficiently as possible.

The Bigger Picture

The Housing Australia Future Fund will support the delivery of 20,000 social homes and 10,000 affordable homes over the coming years. 

These homes are designed to provide secure, long-term housing options for low-income households, key workers, and vulnerable Australians, such as older women, individuals with disabilities, and families experiencing housing insecurity.
